Certificate Course In Music Composition & Direction

To train students in Music Composition and Direction. The course will have about 90% practical and 10% basic theoretical content. The objective of this course is to train the students in Music composition & Direction.

Many renowned Music Directors, Lyrists, arranges, play back singers, recordist are invited as guest lecturers, who impart their practical knowledge, technique to the students. Additionally one self composed song of the student is recorded free of charge in the Departments well-equipped & advance studio.

Admission Details

Eligibility

  • A candidate for being eligible for admission to the certificate course in Music Composition and Direction must have passed H.S.C. The eligible students will be called for interview & admission will be given to student who pass in the interview.
  • No age limit criteria
Duration

The duration of the course shall be 60 Lectures (about 15 weeks, 4 Lectures per week)

Interplay of Sound and Rhythm. Sound and its qualities, dimensions
Physical chrarcteristics of sound, Timbre. Musical sound – Naad.
Impact of sound modulations. Natural sound vis a vis synthesised or “electronic” sound.
Tones, Colours of sound, Echo, reverberation of sound.
Recording and reproduction of sound. Harmony, chords use of multiple pitches. Consonance and Dissonance.
Musical acoustics. Human voice, dimensions of mood, expressions.
Rhythm- Laya, Layakari, Tal Matra, Avartan.
