BPA (Swar Vadya) is a four year honours bachelor course. This course provides the basic and theoretical concepts of Swar Vadya, through this programme students will get knowledge about History of Indian Classical Music origin and development of Gharana tradition with Melody Instrument.

    • Third Year, the “Bachelor’s Degree” will be awarded.
    • Fourth Year, the “BA Honors Degree” will be awarded.
    • Fifth Year, the post-graduation “MA Degree” will be awarded.

Eligibilty Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor of Performing Arts degree with Honours in Hindustani Classical Vocal/Instrumental (Harmonium/Shehnai/Flute) and Percussion Music (Tabla) must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from any Board with 40% or more marks in the aggregate with Music as one of the subject.

OR

Candidates who have not offered Music as one of the subject at the last qualifying Examination and desirous of seeking admission to Bachelor degree with Honours in Hindustani Music Vocal/Instrumental (Harmonium/Shehnai/Flute) and Percussion Music (Tabla) must have learnt Music for not less than three years in a recognised institution.

OR

Learnt Music for not less than three years from a well-known teacher/guru. Such candidates will be required to submit a certificate issued by the institution/teacher/guru, as the case may be to this effect.

Note:

The final selection will be made based on performance in the audition test.
