The B.P.A. (Dance) programme in Kathak is a comprehensive programme that offers an all-round grounding in the different aspects of classical dance related to both its theory and practice.
The programme will meet the requirements of the NEP 20 and will follow a credit based system. It is possible to opt for minor courses in Carnatic music, Hindustani music, tabla, mridangam and folk dance.
Special Guest lectures in various allied aspects like Programme curation, Arts Administration, Programmme hosting, Social media marketing, Stage and light design will be part of the ongoing syllabus content.
The course offers opportunities to enhance a holistic learning process. With Departments of Sanskrit, Yoga, Ancient Indian Culture within the campus the student has immediate access to expert guidance and library resources. Besides the University promotes a vibrant research environment.
The four year honours programme aims to equip the student not only in the performance aspects but also in allied areas of research, teaching and public presentation so that the student is well trained as performer, dance educator, presenter, arts administrator, dance writer and programme curation. The student will also gain sufficient industry experience related to these which is part of the curriculum.
Additionally renowned performing artists, Gurus and academicians will be periodically invited to conduct credit based workshops.
