The B.P.A. (Dance) programme in Kathak is a comprehensive programme that offers an all-round grounding in the different aspects of classical dance related to both its theory and practise.
The programme will meet the requirements of the NEP 20 and will follow the credit-based system. It will include additionally skill-based courses like video editing, sound recording, social media, stage design and management, arts administration, dance journalism, event management and the like. Minor courses in Carnatic music, mridangam and folk dance would be optional. Guest experts will be periodically invited to conduct special workshops and key modules of the course content as part of continuing education and credits will be included for the same. The four-year honours programme aims to equip the student not only in the performance aspects but also in allied areas of research, teaching, and public presentation so that the student is well trained as performer, dance educator, presenter, arts administrator and programme curator.
